Very Fortunate to attend the workshop which has limited seating. This is a oil paintings workshop made by NAFA by presenting Swedian artist, Alexander Lumsden. He showed us how to using oil paintings and comparing the types of materials as well. He gave us a paper to tried the different kinds of oil paintings. Most participants were students of my class so we decided to take a photo with the artist. One of my unforgettable workshop in NAFA. I have learnt oil paintings method from this workshop and became interested in using oil paintings as my drawing methods.

MY ANCESTOR

Knowing my ancestor is amazing because not everyone can see the picture of their ancestor. The standing man in the picture is my ancestor. He was a confidant of Dutchman who colonize Indonesia for 350 years. But during the colonial era, the Dutchman was not all evil. Some of them even help the commoners and love the childrens. I think this picture was taken in 19th century. My ancestor looks dashing in a white uniform he wore. My grandfather's and ancestor's face look alike. No wonder if my father's face looks handsome.

BERASTAGI HIGHLANDS

Travelling is always a good idea to reduce stress and spending a quality time with family and friends. Berastagi Highlands is the first choice in my family because there you will stay in a villa while others stay in hotel. You can feel the warmth in the villa with your family and friends. The pictures was taken when we spent our time in the market. There were many attractive things for you to try such as, grilled corn, original sugarcane juice, riding a horse, boiled peanuts, and flowers. You will amazed when you see the scenery there, and also the cool air. One of the recommended places in my hometown!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Teaching arts in Sunday school was one of the memorable moments when I was in my hometown, Medan, Indonesia. I was a volunteer teacher in Buddhist Temple. I don't know how to express my feelings when I saw they were very enthusiastic about the arts. They all need to be honed since childhood. Besides that, they also need someone who can understand them. Some of them were children from a divorced family. There were also children from family who can afford them, but some were not. From there, I like to hear the outpouring of their hearts, played with them, and entertained them. Very happy to see the smiles from them, makes me grateful to be born in my family. So grateful to have parents who have always loved me, supported me, comforted me, even so concerned about me even I am not a little girl anymore. That's why I always passion to makes them proud of me and never tired to makes them happy. I don't want their sacrifice for me so far in vain.

SHAVING CREATIONS

To make work like this is very easy but the results obtained are remarkable. Every time we shave pencil, shaving wood will produce that we can use as the basis for this. The most important thing needed to make this work is patience. The shaving wood originally is brown colour, so we need to tint it one by one. It can bring out a 3D effect by stick it clearly. Once you done, you will satisfied with your own work and a little bit shocked because you have create a unique artwork by your own. Actually, those are what I felt when finished this butterfly.

FROTTAGE ART

Frottage art is a surrealist and "automatic" method of creative production developed by Max Ernst. In Frottage the artist takes a pencil or other drawing tool and makes a rubbing over a textured surface. The drawing can be left as it is orused as the basis for further refinement. While superficially similar to brass rubbing and other forms of rubbing intended to reproduce an existing subject, and in fact sometimes being used as an alternate term for it, frottage differs in being aleatoric and random in nature. The picture above is my frottage work for sea creatures. Can you see what animal it is?

3D Wire Sculptue

Sculpture is the branch of visual arts that operates in three dimensions. The processes originally used carving and modelling in stone, metal, ceramics, woods, and other materials but, since modernism, shift in sculptural process led to an almost complete freedom of materials and process. This is my first 3D wire sculpture which I did in my second project of 3D Fundamental class. The processes of making this fan were a little bit troublesome but I enjoyed doing it. The new motivation that I get from this project is we should enjoy and love what we do though troublesome, because if we do something we hate we will not satisfied with the results and the workmanship will be felt longer.

WATERCOLOR

Colours can represent many feelings, depend on how peoples look at it. For the example, light blue always expected as calm, serenity, relaxed, etc. Besides the colour, the movement also affects people's feelings. As an example, if we want to convey a feeling of happiness, we can squirt a bright colors to the white paper. As you can see from the picture beside, that is what I did in my Drawing Fundamental class by using watercolor. Green and brown represent nature. The movements that I used are splash and random movement of a brush because there is nothing as neat in nature. I became interested in using colours to convey my feelings while others use writing in their diary to present their feelings.

My First Dots Drawing

Drawing seems like transfer information from our eyes to the hand, then the hand aided by the pencil to convey a message to the paper. The information commonly comes in line. Then from the line can create a shape, shadow, etc. Addition to the line, can also be color which creating light parts and shadow parts. In this video, I was using dots drawing method. I was immediately interested when first time used this method. This method was taught by my 2D Fundamental teacher at NAFA in my first year here. I'm very happy to get the lessons that I be fond.
