THREE QUARTERS OF A CENTURY

This is an artwork of Hong Sek Chern, Another Sunny Afternoon. She was graduated from NAFA and went on to complete a MFA at Goldsmiths College (UK). Her work, which is primarily rendered in Chinese Ink, explores issues relating to urban environments. It was so interesting because the artist was using chinese ink on rice paper to create a perspective drawing, while others commonly using a pen and ruler in perspective drawing. The painting was created based on the idea of taking a walk. The artist did her 'walk' with Google Map Streetview; tracing and painting over the buildings via computer screen to create scenery. I think the process was really creative. So, the conclusion is reflective writing or artist statement is so important because people nowadays want to know the creative process behind the great artwork.
